FAQ
Straight answers to the questions we hear most.
Are you licensed?
Yes. Minton Electric holds Texas Electrical Contractor License TECL 24654. Our journeymen are licensed by the state and work under a Master Electrician. You can look up any license on the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation website.
Do you give estimates?
Yes. Send a request or call the office, and we’ll set up a time to look at the job.
Owner: Say whether estimates are free, and whether there is a charge for service calls.
What areas do you serve?
Jasper and the towns around it in Jasper, Newton and Tyler counties and the Sam Rayburn area. Farther out? Call and ask.
Do you work on commercial and city jobs?
Yes: shops, offices, schools, churches, water and sewer plants, and lift stations.
My breaker keeps tripping. Is that dangerous?
A breaker that trips is doing its job, but it’s telling you something is wrong: an overloaded circuit, a bad appliance or a fault in the wiring. Don’t keep resetting it. Call us to find the cause.
Should I upgrade my panel?
Consider it if your panel still uses fuses, is full, feels warm, or if you’re adding a big load like a shop, an EV charger, a generator or central air.
What forms of payment do you take?
Owner: List the payment methods you accept.
